corporate responsibility

committed to communities

Supporting communities has always been a cornerstone of our business and fundamental to Target's values.Even before our first store opened in 2013, we were busy working with Canadian communities.

  • We donated more than $250,000 to local chapters of United Way.
  • We have worked extensively with Food Banks Canada to coordinate weekly pick-ups.
  • Target donated $250,000 to Pathways to Education to provide healthy snacks to students.

We’re very proud to be in Canada and of the contributions we’ve been able to make in local communities.

Target and TOMS have teamed up to bring you a limited-edition collection. For every TOMS for Target gift that you buy, we’re giving shoes, a blanket or meals to those in need. Each purchase allows our guests to bring home a beautifully designed product from an assortment of apparel, home décor, and accessories while giving back to our partners at Canada Red Cross, Food Banks Canada, and TOMS.

our sustainability story

A healthy community includes clean air, water, and land. We integrate environmental sustainability throughout our business; from the way we build our stores -- by working towards LEED certification -- to the products on our shelves, we support sustainability throughout the product cycle. our sustainability story

Volunteerism is a big part of Target culture, and we give our time, leadership skills, and business acumen to organizations such as Inn from the Cold (Alberta), Canadian Cancer Society (Quebec), and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Halifax—and many more across our great country. We surpassed our company volunteerism goal in 2013 and are excited to donate even more time in 2014.
